We have put together some answers to questions that are often asked. If you have a question that is not included below please feel free to contact us and we will get back to you as soon as we can with a reply.
Q What are your boarding charges and how are they calculated?
A All boarding fees are charged by the day, or part day to include the day of arrival and the day of departure. A minimum boarding charge applies for stays of less than three days. Please see our current price list.
Q When and how can I pay my bill?
A Boarding and other charges may be made by cash or cheque. All fees are payable either in advance or on departure, as agreed at the time of booking. Long term bookings normally require charges to be paid monthly.
Q Will my pet need to be vaccinated before coming to board ?
A Yes ! No pets can be accepted without proof of full current vaccinations, covering your pet for the entire period of the booking. As a minimum Dogs must be vaccinated against Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, leptospirosis, and Canine Infectious Bronchitis (Kennel Cough). And Cats for Cat Flu, Feline infectious enteritis. Vaccination certificates must be presented at every stay and will be retained for the duration of the stay. (Note: All PRIMARY vaccinations must have been completed at least 2 weeks prior to the arrival date)
Q What will happen if on arrival it is found that my pet is not up to date with its vaccinations?
A Unfortunately we will not be able to accept your pet for boarding. And in this situation you would be liable to pay the full booking fee for the entire booking.
Q What time can I drop off or collect my pet?
A We only accept pet’s for check in and check out during our standard opening hours.
Q I have more than one dog/cat. Can they share accommodation?
A Yes of course, pets from the same household can share accommodation however this is at your own risk, and we reserve the right to separate animals if in our opinion there is a risk to the safety of one or more of the pets sharing. In this situation the standard boarding charge for individual accommodation will be charged for the remainder of the stay.
Q What should I bring when my pet comes to board?
A You will need to bring your Dog in on a lead. And your Cat will need to arrive in a secure pet carrier. You should also bring your pets vaccination card, and if your pet is on a special diet you will need to bring sufficient food for the length of his stay, also any medication or supplements.
Q Can I bring my pets bedding and toys?
A You are welcome to bring items from home including favourite bedding and toys to help your pet settle, however we provide a plastic bed and soft fleecy vet bed.
Q Is there anything I shouldn’t bring?
A Bowls, Polystyrene Bean bags, Bedding with large amounts of stuffing or filling, Small or unsuitable toys.
Q What exercise will my dog get?
A We will exercise your dog for a minimum of 20 minutes 3 times each day in a large secure grass paddock. This can be considerably longer if your dog is able to mix in one of our supervised social groups.
Q Will my pets sleeping area be heated?
A Yes all of our kennels and cat chalets are heated.
Q My dog is on a special diet. Can you feed him his own food if I bring it with him?
A Yes, we are happy to feed your pets normal food including any special diets.
Q When will my pet be fed?
A We feed twice a day 8:30am and 4:30pm
Q What happens if my pet gets sick or is injured during his stay with you?
A While we always do all we can in the interests of care and welfare of our guests, occasionally an animal can have an accident or become poorly. In this event, we will initially try to contact your nominated emergency contact for advice. however at our discretion we will consult our own vet. Any costs associated with veterinary treatment incurred during the boarding period are the responsibility of the client, this Includes but is not limited to Veterinary call out fees, Transportation of your pet to or from the vet’s (min £25 per journey), veterinary accommodation. All costs must be paid at the time of settling the boarding fees.
Q My dog requires medication. Can you give him his tablets every day?
A Yes. Bring along his prescription with the dosage instructions clearly marked and we will give him his medicines according to the directions. We generally do this free of charge but if the prescription regime is complicated (multiple daily tablets or injections for example) then we may make an additional charge. This will be explained on booking.
